Preliminary Results from the Catalogue of Southern Peculiar Galaxies and Associations
Abstract
Preliminary results are reported of an investigation involving the cataloging of all unusual objects on the SRC Southern Sky Survey. The definition of categories is discussed. The 25 categories adopted for the cataloged objects are listed in a table. A number of plates illustrate most of the categories into which the peculiar objects fall. A second table identifies these objects and the regions in which they can be found. Regions are numbered as in the ESO Schmidt survey reported by Holmberg et al. (1974). Included also are the 1950.0 right ascension and declination for each object followed by a code and a somewhat more complete description.
