Unstationary diffraction of acoustic spherical and cylindrical waves by rigid spheres and cylinders
Abstract
The influence of unsteady spherical and cylindrical waves on a sphere and a cylinder is analyzed. Exact solutions are obtained by deriving, and solving numerically, a Volterra integral equation of the first kind with respect to the required functions. The diffraction induced pressure, and the displacements, velocities, and accelerations of translational motion are determined for bodies of various buoyancy as a function of the distance from the source.
