Variation of the gravitational constant in time and space
Abstract
A historical survey of theories admitting the variation of the gravitational constant in time and space is presented. The DickeBrans theory is briefly described. The fundamental concept of the parameterized postNewtonian formalism for metric theories of gravitation is expounded. The value of measurements of the gravitational constant for verifying gravitational theories is emphasized. Latest results on the topic of the change of the gravitational constant with time are given.
