Two-dimensional turbulence of electrostatic Vlasov plasmas
Abstract
A statistical description is given of the Vlasov equation for a two-dimensional electrostatic ion-electron plasma with a constant magnetic field. It is shown that the same spectrum holds for the electric field as for the guiding center plasma, and that the magnetic field does not appear in the partition function of the canonical ensemble explicity. The results are found to hold also for unmagnetized two-dimensional plasmas.
