The effect of aeration on water jet spreading
Abstract
Theoretical and experimental studies were made on jet characteristics when a large number of small air bubbles were injected in to the submerged water jet to form a two phase flow. Influences of jet velocity, air to mixture void fraction, temperature difference between the jet and its ambient as well as submergence were investigated. Dependent variables measured included jet trajectory, local jet diameter, and centerline temperature decay.
