Suboptimal control of interconnected power systems
Abstract
A method of suboptimal limited state feedback controller design for time invariant linear systems which offers a large reduction in the computational requirements was developed. The method is intended to be applied to interconnected power systems. In this method the system is divided into smaller subsystems so that necessary conditions for optimality can be presented as functions of these subsystems. With the use of a truncated Taylor series the suboptimal feedback gain of the control system can be obtained. The applications of the suboptimal method to a multi-area load frequency control system and a multimachine control system are studied.
