The internal dynamics and small signal analysis of Baritt diodes
Abstract
A Baritt diode simulation, small signal numerical calculations, and experimental measurements have been carried out to study the internal dynamics and small signal properties of the Baritt diode. Computer simulation for the transient solution of Baritt diodes is presented. The steady state solutions obtained from the simulation are used to carry out a small signal analysis of the Baritt structure. The transient solution and small signal analysis are carried out for four different devices. The dependence of both the transient solution and small signal analysis on the drift velocity vs electric field curve was investigated. The effect of low lifetime on the steady state and the small signal negative resistance is also investigated.
