Statistical thermodynamics of two-dimensional and adsorbed fluids
Abstract
In reference to matter constrained to only two dimensions, calculations of structure, thermodynamic properties and applications of two dimensional layers of a fluid-like nature were investigated. A two dimensional gas phase was considered and the application of some relevant liquid theories to the two dimensional case were considered. A quasi-thermodynamic investigation was accomplished of the liquid-solid equilibrium in two dimensions. The application of two dimensional liquid theories to the description of monolayers of rare gases adsorbed on the basal plane of graphite were studied as well.
