Localization of deformation, brittle rock failure, and a model for the inception of earth faulting
Abstract
The consequences for processes which give rise to earthquakes were evaluated in terms of a specific model for earth faulting. The general theory of localization of deformation was examined and was applied to examine the effect of stress-induced anisotropy on a model of brittle rock failure as the localization of deformation.
