Polarizational contrasting of nonlinear resonances
Abstract
Identification of nonlinear resonances on Doppler-broadened lines is often effected by means of a technique of nonlinear spectroscopy based on recording the absorption spectrum of the test field while an intense laser field acts on the given medium. In the present paper the feasibility is demonstrated experimentally of a nonlinear spectroscopic method with exclusion of homogeneous saturation; the recording of nonlinear resonances is carried out practically on the 'zero level', something which had never been done before. Consideration is given to the setups for the basic and control experiments. It is noted that the contrasting of resonances can be used in the frequency stabilization of laser radiation.
