Experimental setup for high-pressure gas lasers
Abstract
The paper describes an experimental setup which consists of an electron-beam-pumped KrF excimer laser and a high-current electron-beam generator. The chief feature of the setup is the use of a novel multichannel discharger with a sliding discharge. The beam generator consists of voltage-pulse generator, capacitor, discharger, vacuum diode (electron gun) and discharge chamber. A schematic diagram of the setup is presented and consideration is given to such parameters as electron-beam power and the dependence of laser output energy on chemical composition of the gas mixture. A peak pulse-energy of 1.2 J is obtained for the optimal mixture, 1:15:550 for F2:Kr:Ar.
