Two-dimensional unsteady flow in a radial channel
Abstract
The unsteady gas stream generated by a shock wave passing from a cylindrical tube to a radial channel is studied theoretically and experimentally. Situations of this type may arise in MHD devices. It is shown how the development of the process in space and time and the structure of the gas stream can be determined with the aid of third-order-accuracy finite-difference schemes. The theoretical results are found to correlate well with the experiment.
