New observations of the pulsating white dwarf R548.
Abstract
R548 is a luminosity variable DA white dwarf. Two close pairs of pulsation frequencies are simultaneously present in its light curve, one at 213 s and one at 274 s. We present an improved ephemeris obtained by directly modeling the pulsations. We demonstrate that the amplitudes and periods of all four pulsations are highly stable with Q > 1011. Because of the stability, our model predicts the light curve of R548 to within in amplitude and 10 5 in time over two observing seasons. Key words: variable star-photometry-white dwarf
