Period changes of UX Ursae Majoris.
Abstract
All photometric observations of UX UMa obtained during 31 normal epochs of minima are analyzed in an effort to determine the period over which deviations from linear light elements change. Examination of O-C residuals indicates that a period of 29.2 yr gives the best representation of the 31 normal epochs and that the deviations are not smoothly varying. It is concluded that the deviations cannot be caused by either apsidal motion or a third body.
