Onboard telemetry equipment of space flight vehicles
Abstract
The problems in the design of multipurpose high-speed collection and processing systems for the telemetric information on board spacecraft are examined. The synthesis of optimal algorithms for irreversible compression of measurement data is achieved through use of the theory of statistical decision making. A method of estimating the effectiveness of quasi-reversible compression algorithms is set forth, which takes into account the information content of the signals and the complexity of the hardware implementation. The effect of auxiliary information on the effectiveness of realizing data compression devices for multichannel measurement systems and on the error of reconstructing the compressed messages is evaluated. Principles for the design of data collection systems based on associative methods of data processing are announced.
