ECM tubes. I
Abstract
Several microwave devices are studied with reference to their ability to satisfy criteria for wide-band high frequency amplification delivering 1 kW in 0.5-20 GHz range. The criteria involve attributes such as cost, band width, weight, and reliability. The best device was made from two traveling wave tubes in parallel. Device features such as noise factor, modulation, and treatment of multiple signals are compared and discussed. The properties of traveling wave tubes in parallel are analyzed.
