AlGaAs-GaAs Semiconductor Ring Laser

The laser oscillation of an injection type ring laser with a three dimensional waveguide structure at room temperature is presented. Two types of waveguide structures, a pillbox type and a circle type, were tested and both a perfect ring and a half ring structure could be oscillated. The oscillation characteristics, light output vs. injection current and spectrum, are discussed.
