Telemetric measurement of temperature
Abstract
A telemetric temperature-monitoring system is described. The transmitter has three components, a transducer, a subcarrier oscillator, and a very-high-frequency oscillator. The transducer consists of a thin film of germanium deposited on glass, and is placed in contact with the object whose temperature is to be measured. The subcarrier oscillator uses a stable multivibrator configuration whose time period and frequency are controlled by the instantaneous transducer resistance. Bandwidth and frequency parameters of the subcarrier oscillator are provided. The monitoring system is examined, and calibration data are presented.
