Experimental studies of the large Debye length probe theory in a continuum plasma
Abstract
The Laplace limit probe theory for continuum plasmas, i.e., probe theory under the condition r_{p}/λ_{D}→0, where r_{p} is probe radius and λ_{D} is Debye length, has been experimentally studied. The results show that the application limit of this theory is r_{p}/λ_{D}=0.44 for a spherical probe and r_{p}/λ_{D}=0.23 for a cylindrical probe.
