Behavior of a new dc electromagnetic pump using superconducting magnet
Abstract
Analytical results of the performance characteristics of a direct current electromagnetic pump using a superconducting magnet are discussed in this paper. The high magnetic field from a superconducting magnet reduces the influence of the armature reaction and makes the overall pump efficiency high. As the flux density increases, the flow in the duct remains laminar up to the high velocity region and the pump exhibits a high-pressure and low-flow rate characteristic.
