93-GHz radar cross section measurements of satellite elemental scatterers
Abstract
The radar cross section of representative spacecraft materials and components was measured at 93 GHz. Measurements of solar cells, thermal blanket material, structural components, and sensors are included. These measurements indicate the highly specular nature of scattering at millimeter wavelengths. The measurements generally agree with results predicted on the basis of common asymptotic formulations.
