A crossed Yagi aerial for use in A.P.T. reception
Abstract
The design of a circularly polarized crossed Yagi antenna intended for reception of APT cloud pictures in the 136-137-MHz band is reported. This antenna operates over the frequency range from 135 to 140 MHz and has a gain of 10 to 12 dB and a half-power beamwidth of 45 deg. The total weight of the antenna is about 10 kg, and only a simple antenna pedestal is required for tracking purposes.
