Phenomenological study of a turbulent boundary layer with wall suction and heating
Abstract
Turbulent boundary layer analyses in which the onset of heating coincides with suction, and in which heating for all practical purposes coincides with the line of transition to turbulence, are carried out. The experiments indicate that in the fully turbulent region, the formula for average velocities developed by Stevenson (1963) is well verified. In addition, an analytic expression for the temperature profile with suction is proposed; thus the temperature profile with suction may be derived from the profile for the case involving no suction.
