X-Ray Astronomy and Collapsed Objects
Abstract
The distribution of discrete X-ray sources is discussed, along with the nature of galactic X-ray sources, common features of sources similar to Sco X-1, optical or IR counterparts of discrete X-ray sources, and the instruments aboard Ariel 5. Source variability and periods are examined, and observations of several X-ray sources are described. Observations of emission lines in X-ray spectra of compact objects and evidence for the existence of compact extragalactic objects are also reviewed.
