Approximations for the Navier-Stokes problem
Abstract
A local classical solution is obtained for the Cauchy (initial-value) problem for the Navier-Stokes equation describing the velocity field of an incompressible flow in Euclidean space. The method used involves an equivalent fixed-point formulation. Leray's method (1934) is then used to obtain a global classical solution for the problem.
