Thermal calculation of straight truncated fins with an arbitrary lateral-surface shape
Abstract
The paper presents an analytical investigation of the thermal efficiency of straight truncated cooling fins in the case of a steady one-dimensional heat flux, the heat transfer coefficients assumed to be constant. Relations are obtained for determining temperature changes in different sections of a fin, the amount of heat removed by the fin, and its thermal efficiency for different shapes of the lateral surface.
