Optoelectronic solid state switch - A new component for ultrafast measurements
Abstract
A combination of picosecond pulsed laser technology and solid state switching circuitry to achieve picosecond switching capability in sampling and measuring systems is proposed. Transformation of optical short-period pulses into equivalent electrical short-period pulses is attempted. A functional analogy between photoresistance and solid state switching is constructed, with an electrical equivalent of a CdS or CdSe photoresistive component and stripline coupling to a laser beam.
