Scattering amplitudes and crosspolarisation of ice particles
Abstract
The Fredholm-integral method is used to calculate accurate forward and backward scattering amplitudes of spheroidal ice particles for several frequencies in the range 4-30 GHz. Using a valuable oblique-angle rule, crosspolarization at any elevation angle may be deduced. The implications of crosspolarization on satellite paths are discussed.
