Digital reception of frequency shift keyed signals by autoregressive spectral analysis
Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of the digital reception of frequency shift keyed signals. The general multiple frequency shift keyed problem is described first. The concept of the spectrum analyzer receiver is then developed and the idea of employing autoregressive spectral estimation is introduced. For the simple binary signaling scheme (FSK), the probability of error figures are obtained by computer simulation for different receiver configurations and modes of operation. The receiver is not restricted to the binary signaling problem alone but is applicable to the general class of code-selected frequency shift keyed signal problems.
