Experiments on the characteristics of multiple jets in a crossflow
Abstract
The characteristics of multiple jets in an equally spaced symmetrical arrangement in a horizontal plane and injected into a crossflow were studied experimentally. It is found that the mean velocity field in a jet cross section along the trajectory is almost circular and similar to the arrangement near the outlet. Far from the nozzle outlet the mean velocity field is flat. The variation of the jet velocity along the trajectory is expressed in terms of the velocity ratio and the effective diameter of the nozzle.
