Numerical analysis of the profiled explosioninduced DT compression for obtaining critical fusionparameters. I  Cylindrical system. II  Spherical system
Abstract
Numerical calculations of DT compression by a profiled explosion are carried out for the case of a cylindrical wave. Although no critical states are achieved for this case, full numerical calculations are given in order to present a complete set of calculations and perform an analysis of the mechanism of the formation of the successive shock waves in the target. The problem of maximum density and pressure at the center is then solved numerically for a spherical wave. Neutron yield in regions around the critical parameters is estimated.
