Nonlinear filters for noise rejection with application to deglitching
Abstract
A nonlinear filtering technique for the reduction of the effect of impulsive noise, applicable to the deglitching of digital-to-analog converters, is presented. The technique is particularly efficient when matched to the waveshape of the disturbance. The nonlinear matched filters operate by a method similar to that employed by radio receiver noise limiters. The nonlinear filtering technique has the advantage of permitting passage of continuous-type signals through the filter without attenuation or phase shift.
