Three-dimensional compressible stagnation point boundary layers with large rates of injection
Abstract
An exact solution of the problem of steady laminar compressible boundary layers with large mass injection rates at a general three-dimensional stagnation point is proposed; variable gas properties are assumed. The governing equations are solved numerically with the aid of quasilinearization. The results highlight the inadequacy of solutions where the density-viscosity product is assumed constant across the boundary layer, particularly so in the case of low wall temperatures or large injection rates (because of the dependence of skin friction and heat transfer on injection rate and on the nature of the stagnation point).
