Relative positions of the components of Sirius.
Abstract
Results are presented for photographic observations of the Sirius system performed over the periods from 1958 to 1967 and 1974 to 1976 with a 60-cm refractor and a special five-wire 'Sirius grating'. Direct measurements of the positions of Sirius A and B on the photographic plates were made with a measuring machine, and observed displacements are tentatively attributed to various instrument factors. Tables listing the relevant parameters, mean errors, and weighted means are provided.
