The recording and display of video data
Abstract
A review is presented of methods for the recording of primary video data, including magnetic recording, electron-beam recording on photographic or thermoplastic materials, and laser-beam recording on photographic, photoplastic, and metallized materials. Particular attention is given to the recording of digital data on a metallized film using a pulsed laser, as well as recording by scanning a film with an intensity-modulated laser beam. Methods of video data display are also discussed, and the relevance of the techniques discussed to the remote sensing of earth resources is considered.
