Climatology of solar resources
Abstract
Local climatic factors needed for a proper assessment of the effectiveness of solar energy systems in a particular area are considered. The distribution of direct or diffuse sunlight, spectral composition of the sunlight, meteorological factors affecting solar irradiation (cloud patterns, atmospheric turbidity, humidity), dust and suspensions, and average solar irradiation daily in different months of the year are discussed. Charts are provided of global solar irradiation per day for January and July.
