A statistical theory of electromagnetic processes in a bounded plasma
Abstract
A statistical theory which describes electromagnetic processes occurring in a bounded plasma is proposed. On the basis of a probability approach, the spectral tensors of the fluctuations of individualfrequency currents and linearresponse functions are defined. Various cases of bounded plasma systems, in steady (but thermodynamically nonequilibrium) states are treated. Dynamic formfactors of the half space and of the layer of an electronion plasma, in the presence of directed electron motion relative to ions, are reviewed. Attention is given to a theory of the thermal radiation of a nonequilibrium bounded plasma and a theory of the incoherent scattering of electromagnetic waves.
