Kinetic theory of the incoherent scattering of radio waves by the ionosphere
Abstract
The scattering of radio waves by a plasma in external electric and magnetic fields for the case of anisotropic particle temperature is studied on the basis of the linear theory of fluctuations in nonequilibrium media. A general expression obtained for the power spectrum of electron-density fluctuations is used to calculate the differential cross section of scattering.
