On resonant absorption of electro-magnetic radiation in inhomogeneous magnetoactive plasma
Abstract
Expressions are derived for the reflection coefficient of an electromagnetic wave obliquely incident on a magnetoactive plasma, with consideration of the density profile which allows the total absorption of incident energy. Attention is given to the double step density profile for a collisional plasma and an inhomogeneous density profile for a collisionless plasma. The special cases when the uniform magnetic field is parallel and perpendicular to the plasma boundary are examined.
