Polar response of an LV measurement volume
Abstract
The polar response of a fixed fringe pattern for a typical total fringe count is shown, taking into account the primary response and the directional ambiguity. The acceptance angle presented is defined as the included angle over which the probability of detection is 0.9 or greater. Attention is given to the conduction of velocity measurements, the resolution of turbulence parameters into the u-v flow coordinates, the polar response of two 45 deg vector patterns with coincidence, and the polar response of a moving fringe pattern.
