Gas-dynamic and chemical lasers - Gas dynamics
Abstract
Lasers in which fluid dynamic processes play a significant role are considered with emphasis on gasdynamic lasers. For these lasers, the following areas are of crucial importance: gas dynamic processes leading to inversion, gas dynamic-chemical kinetic interactions, gas dynamic-optical interactions, and system starting and operational characteristics. Attention is given to power extraction, possibilities of the gasdynamic CO2-N2-H2O/He laser, gas generators, nozzles, aerodynamic windows, turbulence mixing models, inhomogeneities of the medium, and cavity turbulence.
