Heat exchange in finely dispersed two-phase flows
Abstract
Some problems are considered which relate to heat exchange in high-temperature two-phase gas-suspension flows containing low densities of micron-size solid particles. Formulas are given for calculating the convective and radiative components of heat transfer in such flows, and results are discussed for an experiment performed to investigate heat exchange in an air-graphite flow containing 10-micron graphite particles. The observed intensification of heat-exchange processes in such a flow as compared with a purely gaseous flow is explained in terms of solid-particle participation in radial heat transfer from the flow surface to its core.
