Flow past a bank of transverse tubes at low Reynolds numbers in the presence of heat transfer
Abstract
In the study described, the frequency of vortex separation from the tubes, the temperature, local velocity, and turbulence along the tube perimeter at various distances from the wall were measured at deep-seated tubes of a straight-line bank. The local heat release in a flow of aviation oil was also measured. All measurements were carried out at Re = 502 and Pr = 2540. The measurement techniques employed are described, and the results are diagrammed.
