Rheological applications in lubrication
Abstract
Lubrication of interacting surfaces in relative motion to reduce friction and wear is discussed with emphasis on fluid lubricants. Temperature effects on viscosity of lubricants are described along with the rheological properties of nonpolymeric oils, polymeric oils, greases, hydrodynamic, and elastohydrodynamic lubrication.
