Simulation of an attitude control system with staggered pulses on the satellite motion simulator of DFVLR
Abstract
The attitude control system with staggered pulses was tested in a pysical simulation on a three-axis air bearing table using original sensors and cold-gas thrusters. The objectives of the simulations were a test of system behavior under real conditions, the search and analysis of critical modes, and a determination of the limits of the system. The description of the system and the experimental setup is followed by a presentation of the results which shows that the system is suitable for coarse attitude-control as well as for attitude control in the range of arcseconds.
