Physics of a plasma with superheating instability
Abstract
The paper reviews nonlinear processes in plasmas, associated with superheating instability with reference to work done in the field of controlled fusion by Teller and Samarskii. In a study of laser fusion, the paper proposes a new mechanism of superheating instability, connected with the dependence of ion viscosity and thermonuclear yield on plasma temperature and density during the compression stage.
