Two-dimensional laser Doppler velocimetry
Abstract
The basic optical configurations that can be used for the simultaneous measurement of two orthogonal velocity components are discussed briefly. Several two-component optical systems are described that use a rotating grating as the basic element. The rotating grating functions both as a beam splitter and as a frequency shifter. The systems described in this paper operate in the reference beam mode and do not require special provisions for channel separation.
