Study of the characteristics of a pulsed CO2 laser with preionization by means of ultraviolet radiation
Abstract
A two-stage pulse-voltage generator was used to obtain a uniform discharge in the gas mixture of a CO2 laser with preionization by means of ultraviolet radiation. The dependence of laser output energy and power efficiency on the voltage are plotted for various proportions of the gas mixture. The dependence of output energy on the number of absorber films is investigated. It is shown that the maximum output energy - 30 joules/liter, with a power efficiency of about 10% - was obtained for an active mixture of CO2:N2:He = 1:2:5.
