Charge exchange and ionization in the collision of atoms and multiply charged ions
Abstract
For some physical applications it is useful to know the charge-exchange and ionization cross sections of neutral atoms colliding with multiply charged ions at high velocities. In this theoretical study the electron charge-exchange probability is calculated using the model of Radtsig and Smirnov (1971). The ionization process for a single-electron atom is also analyzed.
