Experimental investigations on turbulent heat transport in homogeneous turbulence of different structures
Abstract
Wind tunnel experiments on flows with approximately homogeneous turbulence and planar mean temperature distributions were performed, where flows of markedly different macrostructure and turbulence levels were studied in order to reveal the influence of these parameters. The different heat propagation properties of the flows investigated were recorded. The behavior of an integral scale and an exchange length was compared, and the use of the effective value of the turbulent fluctuation energy as velocity scale was evaluated.
